SriLankan Airlines receives Gold Award

SriLankan Airlines HR team with the SLITAD award 2016/17

SriLankan Airlines, the national carrier of Sri Lanka received the Gold award for the third consecutive year at the SLITAD People Development Awards 2016/17, which was organised by the Sri Lanka Institute of Training and Development.

Pradeepa Kekulawala, Head of Human Resources, SriLankan Airlines, received the award on behalf of the Airline. Speaking on receiving the award, he said, "Our entire HR and people development processes revolve around a principle of continuous improvement, by which we strive to innovate and implement the latest processes with the ultimate goal of providing a pillar of human resources on which the company can base its business processes and strategies."

SLITAD Awards programme recognises best practices in human resource development amongst the Sri Lankan business enterprises. SLITAD presented the award to SriLankan after a thorough evaluation by a team of professional assessors of all aspects of its human resource development in ten categories, namely business strategy, learning and development strategy, people management strategy, leadership as well as management strategy, management effectiveness, rewards and recognition processes, involvement, empowerment, learning and development, performance measurement and continuous improvement.
